In the 2025 high school season, Broderick Vehrs showed why Oklahoma State wanted him: he was a consensus 3-star QB, ranked by Rivals as the No. 65 quarterback nationally and No. 15 in Arizona, and he paired a strong arm with enough mobility to produce 1,532 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, and just 3 interceptions before a shoulder injury shortened his senior year.[2][3][6] As a junior, he was even sharper, throwing for 2,977 yards with 27 touchdowns and only 2 picks while adding 283 rushing yards, giving the Cowboys a poised, efficient dual-threat who fits a balanced offense and brings upside rather than flash-bang hype.[2][3][12]
