ASU’s freshman firebrand who played like a veteran
In the 2018-19 season at Arizona State, Dort averaged 16.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game while starting 33 of 34 games, and he earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Year plus All-Defense honors[6][4]. He was known for elite physicality, downhill aggression, and on-ball defense, with NCAA coverage noting that he carried himself like an older player and quickly took on a leadership role[11]. If a team wants toughness, intensity, and a guard who can swing the tone of a game at both ends, Dort was absolutely the real deal in Tempe[2][8].
