EMU’s 5-9 freshman guard bringing Canadian grit to the backcourt
Lindsay DeGroot enters Eastern Michigan as a 5-9 freshman guard from Thedford, Ontario, with a background that suggests a versatile, competitive perimeter presence rather than a one-dimensional scorer. Public profile pages list her as a guard with no current college stat line yet, so the real appeal is projection: size for the position, a fresh start, and the kind of multi-sport, all-around guard profile that can grow into a reliable rotation piece. If you want a player who can add toughness, ballhandling, and upside, she’s worth a closer look.
