defensive-minded Illinois State guard with proven winning pedigree
Sara Stevenson brings a reputation for toughness, perimeter shooting, and disruptive defense, with a track record as an elite high-school scorer and steal producer before joining Illinois State. Her prep résumé included 2,503 career points, 274 made threes, and 686 steals, which ranked fourth in IHSA history—signals of a guard who can impact both ends and create possession swings.[1][5] Earlier Illinois State coverage also described her as a strong defender, making her the kind of fit teams value for intensity, ball pressure, and backcourt versatility rather than empty volume.[4]
