John Ragin brings South Carolina a steady, South Carolina-grown guard with two-way instincts
Ragin is a local guard from Eastover, South Carolina, who built his case at Cardinal Newman by averaging 13 points, 4 assists and 6 rebounds as a senior while earning first-team all-region and all-state honors; that profile suggests a well-rounded, high-motor backcourt player who can handle, pass and rebound beyond his position. In his South Carolina career, ESPN lists him as a guard with limited current production, so his value is likely more about depth, familiarity with the program and a steady, competitive mindset than headline numbers.
