Ben Smith brings strikeout upside and starter durability to Houston Christian
In the 2025 season, Houston Christian right-hander Ben Smith logged 60.1 innings with a 5.97 ERA and 53 strikeouts, showing enough swing-and-miss to matter while working mostly as a starter[3][8]. He also delivered bigger moments, including a six-inning shutout-style win over Corpus Christi in 2025 and a complete-game win in March 2026, which points to a pitcher trusted to handle innings when his command is on[6][2]. The fit question is simple: if your staff wants a durable, competitive arm with starter feel and strikeout ability, Smith is worth a long look[1][3].
