Ellen Young brings proven scoring pedigree and point-guard poise to Southern Illinois
Young is a 5-foot-5 freshman guard from Salem, Illinois, with a notable local hoops résumé and early-game scoring flashes for Southern Illinois, including an 18-point outing against DePaul and 24 points at Illinois in the roster game log[1]. Her profile suggests a compact, attack-minded guard who can create offense, but the publicly available data is thin beyond those early results, so the best read is that she offers energy, shot-making upside, and hometown-gym familiarity rather than a polished statistical resume[1][5].
