veteran Rice safety known more for reliability than flash
In the 2026 season, Rice safety Ford Corbett profiles as a steady, experienced defensive back at 5-foot-8 and 185 pounds, with the kind of senior presence coaches value for communication, trust, and toughness over highlight-reel size. Rice’s roster lists him as a senior safety from Ft. Worth and notes past academic recognition, which fits a player whose edge is consistency and dependability rather than raw measurables. He looks like a fit for a team that wants a disciplined, high-IQ defender who can handle assignments cleanly and bring mature locker-room energy.
