Dwight McLean brings physicality and ball production to Purdue’s secondary
Dwight McLean has the kind of safety profile coaches love: physical, assignment-sound, and proven to make plays on the ball. In the 2008 season at Purdue, he played in all 12 games with six starts, totaled 36 tackles, matched the team lead with two interceptions, and added a fumble recovery and three pass breakups. Purdue’s staff praised his “level of physical play” at safety, which fits a defense that wants a tough, reliable enforcer who can also create turnovers. He’s a fit if you need a defender with contact pop and opportunistic instincts.
