Texas Tech’s power arm has flashed strikeout upside and swingman value
Raineri, a 2026 sophomore transfer from Hawai’i, has already shown why Texas Tech trusted him: in the 2026 season he posted 36 strikeouts in 37.1 innings across 13 appearances and six starts, with multiple outings where his fastball/slider mix played up in short bursts. He can miss bats and give the Red Raiders innings, but his profile has also been volatile—good early, then hit hard in some tougher Big 12 spots—so he looks like a fit for a staff that values competitiveness, flexibility, and upside over pure polish.
