Corey Shannon brings versatile, multi-sport toughness to Valparaiso’s defensive backfield
Corey Shannon is a Chicago-area Valparaiso defensive back whose background suggests toughness, speed, and positional flexibility rather than headline-grabbing box-score production. Valpo listed him as a DB in football, and his profile notes he also competed in track and field while appearing in three football games in 2018, recording two tackles and a half tackle for loss. That mix of multi-sport athleticism, physicality, and role-player reliability makes him the kind of guy coaches usually trust to help stabilize depth in the secondary.
