Veteran Gaels guard brings steady, two-way backcourt value
James Walker III projects as a dependable, defense-first guard for Saint Mary’s, with a reputation for toughness, mature decision-making, and doing the dirty work that wins WCC games. In the 2024-25 season, RealGM listed him in the Gaels’ rotation with 6.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game, plus a team-best 1.4 steals per game, a strong sign of his disruptive on-ball presence. He looks like a fit for teams needing poise, perimeter pressure, and low-drama consistency rather than a high-usage scorer.[7]
