Nick Treco is NC State’s unsung glue guy-turned-coach
Nicholas Treco’s value at NC State has always been in the little things: he was a multi-year safety/nickel who played in special teams roles, won the team’s Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year award in 2020 and 2022, and earned ACC Academic Honor Roll recognition four times. In the 2022 season, he was a trusted developmental piece rather than a headline stat-stuffer, which tells you the staff saw toughness, reliability, and football IQ. He’s now on the Wolfpack staff as a defensive graduate assistant, so if you like players who bring intelligence, versatility, and buy-in, Treco is absolutely your kind of guy.
