Vincent DeCarlo brings draft-level catching upside to NC State
DeCarlo entered NC State as a highly regarded catcher, viewed by Baseball America as the No. 20 catcher in the 2025 draft class, and he showed immediate value in 2026 with 21 appearances, six starts, a .257 average, one home run, and 11 RBI before entering the transfer portal. His calling card is a sturdy, athletic frame with above-average defense and strong arm strength, which makes him appealing if you want a backstop who can stabilize a pitching staff. He also flashed clutch potential, including his first college homer in regional play.
