Matt Carter is not the Hornets’ current TE — the Sacramento State name match points to an old roster entry
The available team data does not show a current Sacramento State tight end named Matt Carter; the Sacramento State record instead points to a former Hornets TE from 2009–10, not a 2026 contributor[1][2]. For present-day tight end impact, Sacramento State’s 2025-26 stat leaders were driven by Jordan Williams at TE with 11 catches for 170 yards and 1 touchdown, which suggests the passing-game TE role is active but under a different player name[3]. If you’re evaluating fit, the key takeaway is simple: Matt Carter doesn’t appear to be the current TE profile to scout, so this is likely a name mismatch rather than a live roster target[1][2][3].
