Experienced Richmond LB in a Defense Still Searching for Consistency
Mac Janney is a Richmond linebacker who brings size, structure, and veteran-style steadiness to the Spiders’ defense, and he stands out more for reliability and fit than flash. Richmond’s recent team stats show a unit that has struggled to consistently move the ball and keep games under control, so a linebacker who can help stabilize the middle of the field matters. At 6'1" and 224 pounds on the 2025 roster, Janney profiles as a physical, traditional LB who should appeal to teams valuing toughness, assignment discipline, and dependable tackling.
