Caleb Violette gives UMass a proven leg and a do-it-all special teams edge
Caleb Violette’s profile at UMass is built on versatility: the roster notes him as a kicker, punter, and kickoff option, with career kicking production that includes 10-for-17 on field goals and 27-for-29 on PATs, plus a 37-yard long field goal in his recorded stats. He’s the kind of specialist coaches like because he can cover more than one job, and the upside is clear when he’s hitting punts inside the 20 and handling placekicks cleanly. The caution flag is durability, since UMass notes a reinjured foot once cost him a season, so his value hinges on staying healthy and steady.
