Marques Calcote brings crafty point-guard scoring and disruptive defense to La Sierra
Calcote projects as a **wiry, skillful guard** who can create offense off the dribble, attack gaps, and stay engaged defensively; a summer scouting note described him as a crafty ball handler, pesky on-ball defender, and shot creator who also looks to find the open man. In his 2025-26 La Sierra debut, he logged 9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in 18 minutes, a small sample but a useful glimpse of a guard who can contribute on both ends and fits teams that value pace, pressure, and toughness.[1][5]
