Illinois’ playmaking, high-motor defensive back
Bentley was a standout Illinois cornerback known for big-play impact beyond coverage, including a 100-yard kickoff return TD, a punt return TD, an interception return, and a fumble return TD during his Illinois career. He was also praised for athleticism and special-teams value, posting a 38.5-inch vertical and 4.50-second 40-yard dash at Pro Day, while interviews highlighted his humility, toughness, and family-driven motivation. If you want a versatile, competitive defensive back who can change field position and bring energy, he fit that mold.
