Lefty with real strikeout juice, but command still decides the ceiling
In the 2026 season, NC State’s Cooper Consiglio flashed upside as a starter and multi-inning arm, finishing with 71 strikeouts and three saves over 60.0 innings while earning a ninth-round MLB Draft selection by the Phillies. He can miss bats, work multiple roles, and showed he could string together longer outings, including a career-high nine strikeouts versus Miami. The question for any team is consistency: his 6.90 ERA shows the stuff is intriguing, but he’s more fit for a staff that values developing a left-handed arm with real bat-missing ability than one needing a finished product.
