Brett Buchanan gives Western Illinois a big-bodied, strikeout-capable righty with upside
In the 2026 season, Western Illinois RHP Brett Buchanan has worked 40.0 innings with a 6.30 ERA and 36 strikeouts, including a six-inning, eight-K gem against Little Rock that showed his swing-and-miss ceiling.[1][11] At 6'6" and 225 pounds, he brings a durable frame, a starter’s look, and enough bat-missing ability to be a real fit for teams that value size, mound presence, and upside over pure polish.[1][7][12]
