Tackling Machine from Guilford with Winston-Salem State Roots
James Pegues, a hard-hitting LB/DL, exploded for 95 total tackles in 10 games during the 2022 season at Guilford College, peaking with a monstrous 12-tackle outing vs. Washington and Lee—showcasing elite run-stopping intensity and motor that outpaces national high school receiving stats from his 2008-09 Southeast Guilford days (62 yards on 4 catches). No stats listed for his 2013 Winston-Salem State stint, but Hudl highlights reveal versatile athleticism across high schools; his relentless pursuit and gap-shooting make him a disruptive fit for teams needing blue-collar leadership and big-play potential in the trenches.
