Jelani Warren brings size, experience, and academic grit to Montana’s secondary
Jelani Warren is a 6-foot, 194-pound cornerback for Montana who transferred from UCLA and joined the Grizzlies in 2023; in the 2023 season, he was listed on the roster but had no available game statistics, so the clearest read is his profile and pedigree rather than box-score production. He fits the classic high-upside defensive-back mold: long enough to play physical coverage, mature enough to handle a new program, and grounded by strong academics and a workmanlike background. His senior prep season at Bishop O’Dowd included 48 catches for 1,042 yards and 18 touchdowns on offense, which hints at ball skills and athletic versatility.
