Chris Howell brings hustle, playmaking, and steady two-way value to New Mexico
In the 2025-26 season, Chris Howell is a low-mistake, high-effort guard producing 5.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game for New Mexico, with a reputation built on defense and toughness rather than scoring volume.[2][6] He started all 35 games at UC San Diego in 2024-25 and earned Big West Best Hustle Player of the Year honors, which signals the kind of relentless, connective player coaches trust to stabilize a lineup.[6][7] If you want a guard who competes, facilitates, and does the gritty work, Howell fits that mold well.[2][6]
