Darriell Wells brings veteran DB toughness to Western Illinois
Darriell Wells is a seasoned Western Illinois defensive back who brings size, experience, and reliability to the Leathernecks’ secondary; the roster lists him at 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, and historical team data shows he logged 10 tackles against Illinois State in the 2020 season, including 0.5 tackles for loss. His fit is about steadiness and field awareness more than flash—he looks like a player coaches trust for assignment football, physical run support, and veteran composure in a developing defense.
