Jaquail Young brings a long, physical LB frame to Sam Houston’s 2026 defense
Young is listed on Sam Houston’s 2026 roster as a 6-foot-1, 230-pound redshirt junior linebacker, which signals a ready-made college body for taking on blocks and playing downhill. The key thing that makes him interesting is the combination of size, age, and position value at LB—if he translates that frame into consistent tape, he fits as an interior defender who can fit the run, close space, and add toughness to a defense that needs reliable front-seven play. Public stat coverage is limited, so his current value is best read through roster profile and role upside rather than headline production.
