Michael Woods Jr. is battling for a starting CB spot at Furman after a productive move-up year
In the 2025 season at Northwood, Michael Woods Jr. played in 12 games and posted 42 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one interception, and one fumble recovery, then joined Furman in January and impressed enough in spring ball to be part of the Paladins’ starting-corner competition for 2026. Furman’s staff says he’s had a productive spring and likes his trajectory, which matters because that usually signals a player who brings upside, adaptability, and buy-in—not just box-score stuff.
