Maryland’s Sidney Stewart flashes real freshman edge-rush upside
Sidney Stewart has already shown starter-level disruption for Maryland, pairing quick first-step burst with length and a motor that keeps collapsing pockets; in 2025, he was credited with 32 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, 2 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, and a safety, leading all FBS freshmen in sacks.[4] He also appears in Maryland’s 2025 statistical record as a freshman DL listed at 6-2, 255.[3] For a team, he fits as an ascending, high-ceiling front-seven piece whose production and intensity suggest more impact is coming, not less.[1][4]
