Nick Frers is a live right-hander with strikeout upside and early-2026 production at VCU
Frers entered VCU with a reputation as a developing power arm and has already shown the kind of swing-and-miss value teams want from a right-handed pitcher: he threw 3.0 scoreless innings against Virginia in March 2026 and matched a career-best five strikeouts, while earlier scouting notes praised his momentum and ability to miss bats at the junior level. His appeal is straightforward — size, right-handed length, and enough poise to work effectively out of the bullpen — but the bigger differentiator is that he looks like a pitcher trending up rather than just a raw arm.
