Koven Smith’s speed gives Lafayette a legit spark in the backfield
Koven Smith enters the 2026 season as a sophomore RB for Lafayette, and his calling card is obvious: burst, versatility, and special-teams value. In 2025, he appeared in four games mostly on special teams and returned one kickoff for 4 yards, then opened 2026 with 7 carries for 19 yards in Lafayette’s season opener at UConn. A former high-level Virginia prep back and track standout with a 100m school record, Smith brings real acceleration and open-field juice—useful traits if you want a back who can grow into a bigger role without needing the ball every snap.
