Peyton Dhein is VMI’s emerging lefty with a starter’s feel and early flashes of swing-and-miss upside
In the 2026 season, Peyton Dhein has worked as a key left-handed starter for VMI, including an Opening Day ace role, and he’s already shown the ability to give length with strikeout potential and early wins on the season[1][7]. His profile is built on command, competitiveness, and a proven track record from high school, where he posted a 0.52 ERA with 94 strikeouts and helped lead Catawba Ridge to a state title[6]. He’s a solid fit for teams that value a poise-heavy southpaw who can attack lineups and handle pressure, though his outings have also shown he can get hit when command drifts[8].
