Tyrell Clay brings proven UTSA depth and steady ground-game production
Tyrell Clay is a reliable, no-frills running back who has shown he can handle volume and contribute efficiently; in the 2017 season, he rushed for 608 yards on 135 carries with two touchdowns while playing in all 11 games and making two starts. He also comes with the pedigree of a former walk-on who worked his way into the rotation, which points to toughness and coachability. For a team looking for a disciplined, physical back who can stay ready and produce when called, Clay fits the mold.
