Vandy’s lefty-swinging right fielder who can change a game in one swing
In the 2026 season, Johnstone gave Vanderbilt a high-OBP, middle-of-the-order spark, finishing at .297 with a .417 OBP, .497 slugging percentage, 10 home runs, 43 RBI and 41 walks while ranking second on the team and 11th in the SEC in walks. He’s a disciplined, left-handed hitter who pairs patience with real pop, has experience across all three outfield spots, and delivered a walk-off homer in the 13-12 win over LSU, but injuries and missed time, including a concussion and a leg scare, are the main watch-outs.
