Jake Metzer brings elite academic polish and specialist pedigree to Ohio State’s punter room
Metzer is a high-IQ, technically polished punter prospect whose value goes beyond pure leg strength: Ohio State’s roster bio says he was a top transfer punter, a scholar-athlete, and a national honor student, which signals reliability, discipline, and coachability. He joined the Buckeyes after transferring from Penn State and was recognized as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten honoree, with recruiting services listing him as a punter at 6-3, 220. If you want a steady specialist with strong intangibles and a mature, team-first profile, he fits the brief.
