In the 2025 season, Jaylen Wester became Western Kentucky’s defensive metronome: he played in all 13 games, started the final 12, and led the Hilltoppers with 106 tackles while also tying for the team lead with seven tackles for loss and adding 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two pass breakups[1][3]. He’s the kind of linebacker coaches love because he shows up everywhere, plays with steady urgency, and brings a proven production floor; the tradeoff is that he profiles more as a high-volume, instinctive defender than a flashy big-play specialist[1][14].
