Xavier Watson could become UConn’s next mismatch weapon at tight end
Xavier Watson is a 6-foot-4, 243-pound sophomore tight end at UConn who enters 2026 listed as the Huskies’ starting TE, with real upside as a former wide receiver who brings receiver-like movement and red-zone versatility. In high school, he posted 62 catches for 917 yards and 17 total touchdowns in the 2024 season, plus defensive production that hints at toughness and all-around athleticism. He has no meaningful FBS counting stats yet, but his size, multi-sport-style versatility, and first-choice role make him a legitimate name to watch if you want ceiling over résumé.
