The High-Academic Guard with Quiet Scoring Clout for Northwestern State
Akilah Givens, a junior guard for the Northwestern State Lady Demons, stands out not just for her 1.9 PPG and 1.0 RPG in the 2007–08 season, but for her elite 4.0 GPA and NSU Athletic Honor Roll recognition—proof of her discipline, focus, and off-court maturity. While her stats are modest, her intensity in limited games (12 played) and ability to score a season-high in tight moments reveal a player who thrives under pressure. She’s injury-free, highly coachable, and brings a calm, intelligent presence that elevates team chemistry. For any team seeking a reliable, smart guard with leadership potential and a strong character, Givens is a compelling fit—especially one that values long-term development over flash.
