Low-profile Spartans arm with academic discipline and developmental upside
Ian Salters is a Norfolk State right-hander who has logged limited varsity innings so far, including 7.1 innings with three strikeouts in 2024, so the profile is more about projection than volume right now[1][4]. What stands out is the combo of size, team fit, and off-field maturity: he’s listed at 6-foot-3, earned academic recognition, and his background notes a South Carolina state title in high school plus Type 1 diabetes, which speaks to toughness and routine-driven focus[1][3][10]. If a staff wants a pitcher with upside, character, and a developmental ceiling, Salters is the kind of arm worth keeping on the radar[1][3].
