Joseph Martin is becoming SIUE’s go-to bullpen bridge with strikeout stuff and big-game poise
In the 2026 season, Joseph Martin has emerged as a high-leverage righty for SIUE, working 24 appearances and leading the team with four wins out of the bullpen while also ranking among the OVC strikeout leaders early in the year. He pairs a starter’s durability with reliever flexibility, and his recent outings show real swing-and-miss ability plus the confidence to handle pressure spots. He also brings plus classroom value as an Academic All-District selection with a 3.81 GPA, which is a nice bonus for a team looking for reliability on and off the mound.
