Adelaide Jernigan’s homegrown scoring touch gives NC State a polished, high-upside guard
Jernigan, a 5-foot-11 guard from Winston-Salem, arrived at NC State with a reputation for efficient perimeter scoring, toughness, and production after averaging 27.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.5 steals in her 2024-25 high school season, plus a 40% three-point clip in one report. She was ranked as a top-70 national recruit and North Carolina’s No. 1 prospect in her class, which matches the profile of a disciplined, competitive guard who can stretch defenses and bring energy on both ends. In her freshman college season, she was a modest bench contributor, but the long-term fit is obvious: shot-making, local-star poise, and winning pedigree.
