Eli Blair’s 2026 freshman arc: big-bodied lefty with SEC-level upside
In the 2026 season, Florida LHP Eli Blair flashed why scouts liked him: the 6-foot-8 freshman worked nine relief outings, posted a 4.82 ERA, and struck out nine against three walks over 9.1 innings, showing enough command to survive SEC looks and enough bat-missing ability to matter[1][2][7]. His calling card is obvious—downhill plane, left-handed velocity, and a projectable frame—and his high-school résumé backed it up with a 1.83 ERA, 258 strikeouts, and only 74 walks in 199 innings[6]. He’s a classic upside pick: rawer than polished, but absolutely the kind of arm a staff can dream on[11].
