Colby Guy brings veteran strike-throwing upside and late-season trust to ASU
In the 2026 season, Colby Guy stood out as a polished right-hander who earned trust in a big moment: his first start for Arizona State came in an elimination game, where he delivered 6.0 innings, 1 earned run, 7 strikeouts, and no walks to beat Nebraska. He’s a competitive, starter-capable arm with experience, and his pre-ASU resume included a healthy 2024 season at UNC Asheville with a 4.35 ERA over 70 1/3 innings. The appeal is his poise, strike-throwing, and ability to handle pressure; the concern is the injury history that interrupted his 2025 season.
