Josh Smith remains a proven, versatile defensive piece with SEC-level production and strong academic habits
Josh Smith’s Vanderbilt résumé points to a disciplined, multi-role linebacker who brought real value in the 2015-2018 seasons: 92 career tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and 6 sacks, plus two SEC Academic Honor Roll selections. He’s the kind of player coaches like because he combines effort, toughness, and football IQ rather than flashy-measurement hype. For a team, that means a dependable fit in a system that values assignment soundness, edge versatility, and special-teams reliability.
