Lengthy SJSU DE with a Classic Edge-Rusher Frame
David Coats is a San Jose State defensive end whose profile stands out more for size, edge presence, and projection than for widely published recent box-score production; available public results tie his name to SJSU football, while older coverage describes him as a 6-foot-6, 230-pound defensive end/tight end prospect. That kind of build can matter for teams looking for a developmental edge rusher with length, reach, and upside in run defense and pass disruption, though there is not enough reliable public statistical evidence here to confidently label him a proven high-output playmaker. He looks more like a fit for a staff that values traits, coaching, and upside over instant headline numbers.[2][3][5]
