Alex Umland brings a big right-handed frame and two-way upside to UC Irvine
Umland stands out as a **6-4, 225-pound right-handed pitcher** with a strong, physical build and a track record of production at Windward, where he went **16-7 over four seasons** and posted a **1.82 ERA with 77 strikeouts in 54 innings as a senior** while also showing some pop at the plate. His differentiators are the size, durability, and strike-throwing profile that suggest starter potential, plus the confidence of a player who earned **Windward Athlete of the Year** honors in both 2023 and 2024. For a staff seeking a power arm with upside and mound presence, he looks like a worthwhile fit.
