Stetson’s Dominant Sophomore RHP with 49 Ks and a 4.92 ERA
James Hays, the 6'2", 220-lb right-handed pitcher for Stetson Hatters, is a sophomore standout in the 2025 season with a 4-1 win-loss record, 4.92 ERA, and 49 strikeouts—tying for the team lead in Ks. His intensity is unmatched: in a recent 7-inning gem, he held opponents to just 2 hits and 8 strikeouts, showcasing elite control and a fierce competitive mindset. Unlike many pitchers who rely solely on velocity, Hays differentiates with a sharp mid-90s fastball paired with a devastating slider, making him a reliable starter or high-leverage reliever. No injury history reported, and his USA Baseball 18U National Team background signals top-tier pedigree. He’s a perfect fit for teams needing a durable, high-intensity pitcher who can dominate late innings.
