Chris Russell brings veteran LB size and a clean college résumé to WKU
As a 2026 Western Kentucky linebacker, Chris Russell offers a sturdy 6'1", 218-pound frame and experienced, roster-ready depth for a Hilltoppers defense that needs reliability more than flash. The big selling point is fit: he looks like a classic run-support LB who can hold his ground, stay assignment-sound, and add physicality in the middle. There isn’t enough public 2026 stat detail to label him a stats monster, but if you want a tough, plug-and-play defender who should compete for snaps without drama, Russell is the kind of low-maintenance, high-trust piece coaches tend to love.
