Notre Dame’s veteran walk-on corner with a long track record
William David Williams is best known as a former Notre Dame walk-on who earned a scholarship and a reputation for toughness, football IQ, and steady special-teams/defensive-back depth. The catch: he is not listed on Notre Dame’s 2026 roster or depth-chart coverage, so he does not appear to be an active current contributor for this season. His biggest differentiators were reliability, buy-in, and program respect—not flashy stats—which makes him a classic culture fit, but not a current on-field target for a roster slot.
