VMI’s Chase Smith Brings Old-School Line Stability and Experience
Chase Smith is a veteran VMI offensive lineman who has been valued more for reliability and leadership than flashy stats: VMI’s roster and historical bio identify him as a returning starter on the offensive line, with experience at left guard and a 6-foot-3, 265-pound frame built for interior trench work[2][3]. For a team, that usually means a steady, physical presence who helps set protections and keeps the offense on schedule; for a fan, he’s the kind of lineman you notice most when he’s not there[2][3].
