Jameela Haynes brings veteran size and defense-first value to Saint Louis
Haynes is a 6-foot forward who profiles as a low-usage, defense-oriented veteran for Saint Louis; her listed college career at SLU shows 43 games with modest scoring, but she’s valued more for toughness, length, and knowing her role than for box-score pop[1][2][3]. In the 2008 season, SLU used her in key minutes against conference and nonconference opponents, including a stretch where she helped stabilize the frontcourt and even hit a basket in an exhibition win, suggesting reliable energy and positioning rather than flash[6][8].
